A
Azure Storage Queue: is a cloud-based, durable message queuing service for storing and accessing large numbers of messages, enabling asynchronous communication between application components and facilitating scalability and resilience.
ACH: Automated Clearing House is a network that allows electronic payments between bank accounts. ACH payments are used for many purposes, including direct deposits, bill payments, and tax refunds.
AP: Account Processable file also called a reconciliation or recon file is the payment file that is sent back through the ECG after payment processing.

ECG: Electronic Communication Gateway is a Managed File Transfer (MFT) platform providing internal and external file transfer services for all of UnitedHealth Group, including acquired entities (AEs). An ECG is a device or software that facilitates communication between different networks or systems. It acts as a bridge, enabling data transfer between networks that might otherwise be incompatible.
EDI: Electronic Data Interchange is a standardized method for businesses to exchange business documents electronically, like purchase orders and invoices, instead of using paper or other manual methods.
EFT: Electronic Funds Transfers is a digital money transfer from one account to another, initiated electronically (not manually) and can involve various methods like online banking, debit/credit cards, or ATMs.
ERA: Electronic Remittance Advice is a digital version of a paper EOB that provides healthcare providers with details about payments and adjustments made to claims submitted to insurance companies.
EOB: Explanation of Benefits is a statement from your health insurance company that explains how your claim was processed, detailing the total charges, what your insurance covered, and what you owe for medical services.
Event: An event is something that's already happened vs. a command, which is to issue an instruction for something yet to happen.

Idempotency: In the context of APIs and distributed systems, refers to the property of an operation where the same result is obtained regardless of how many times it's executed. In other words, repeating an idempotent operation multiple times has the same effect as executing it once. This concept is crucial for ensuring reliability and stability in systems, particularly in scenarios involving retries or network issues.

REST: Representational State Transfer software is an architectural style that allows applications to communicate and exchange data over the internet by following specific guidelines.
